Dior Addict Plumping Lacquered Lip Ink applies with a small foam
brush, dipped into a lipstick shaped tube within a transparent receptacle. The
design of the receptacle, inner tube and foam brush were together awarded the
US design patent USD742071(S1), titled Lipstick case.
The design patent drawing Figure 6 is included below, together with
an image of one of the marketed Dior Addict Plumping Lacquered Lip Ink, in the
color pink.
As a reminder: “a utility patent”
protects the way an article is used and works (35 U.S.C. 101), while a “design patent” protects the way an
article looks (35 U.S.C.
